Education & Licenses

Jill graduated from Gonzaga University with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and she is licensed with the state of Washington as a Mental Health Counselor Associate. Working at a public middle school as a mental health counselor intern really brought Jill to love helping teens and she has been specializing in teen counseling since and really enjoys the time she spends working with teens. Jill’s experience in techniques is vast, ranging from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to Art Therapy and Play Therapy, to Solution Focus and Motivation Interview. Some of the things she typically helps teens with are: Depression Disorder, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, sexual orientation and identity, and more.

Why she is here

Finding human life experience completely intriguing, Jill feels it is a privilege to get to listen and understand her patients’ life experiences. She knows how powerful it is for people to feel seen as they grow and strive for a better self, and she loves to see how her patients transform their emotions and personal growth during their time with her.

What else

Having grown up in a city, Jill love the familiar city feeling of Portland, and she loves to try all the great food Portland has to offer. She loves to try new foods and to cook and bake. When she’s not with patients, she has also taken up pottery as well as enjoying movies and classic jazz music. She loves to travel and see how people live and enjoy life in different parts of the world too.

From Jessica...

“Jill is so kind and down to earth that it is no wonder patients are comfortable sharing their stories with her. I know how many teens struggle with emotions and identity during that stage in life, so I think it’s such a great service that Jill has specialized in that age-group.” Jessica Tatieze, Zara Clinic Founder
